Snipers are easy to identify because they have lights (?) on their guns, and are dressed in ghillie-like helmets.
Once these snipers are alerted to your presence, you will only have a few seconds to eliminate the enemy snipers before they will kill you with one, precise shot. In some of the levels, enemy snipers are positioned in locations that overlook the other enemy soldiers. The only thing shooting them will do is alert the enemy soldiers to your presence. Don’t waste your precious time, and ammo, on these barrels. Notice the ones in the image above they will not explode if you shoot them. Not all the barrels are explosive barrels though. The ensuing explosions are an easy way to take out multiple enemies at once, though they will alert any survivors to your presence. There are explosive barrels in Sniper X with Jason Statham that the player can shoot. Now, when your character zooms back in after loading the next shot, you’ll already be in close proximity to your target and will only have to make minimal adjustments. Take this little bit of downtime to reorient yourself with your next target, and position the camera so that your target is roughly in the center of the screen. As the next shot is being readied, you can still look around. When using a sniper rifle, particularly the default one, you’ll have a few moments in between shots where your character chambers the next shot, and you’ll be removed from the zoomed-in scope view. Just remember to zoom in so that the target’s head is as large as it can be in your scope, to minimize the chance of a missed shot. Landing a headshot is not only a rewarding achievement, but at the end of the level you’ll be rewarded with some cash for each head shot you landed. However, if you’re looking for a bit of extra cash from each of the missions (and you should be!) you’ll want to aim for the head. Landing a headshot in Sniper X isn’t too important since you can easily kill an enemy soldier with one shot to the chest.
