as for the difference between the two, i can only speak from personal experience, but here are the reasons i stopped using extended and went back to vanilla: (1) there are annoying objects in extended like which will not work on certain operating systems.

Renoise 3, on the other hand, is already ready for beta testing, so we decided to concentrate on the Renoise 3 release first, then we'll start testing Redux at a later date. One noise~ object is not particularly cpu intensive, but if you have 20 or 30 of them in a patch (quite easy to do if you make an analogue style drum kit, for example), then of course a whole bunch of objects are going to be more efficient.Īs far as i know, the pd engine and gui are pretty much the same in both vanilla and extended. Any instruments created in Renoise will be fully compatible with Redux, and vice versa.Īlthough Redux's core functionality is more or less complete, we want to give it more time for fine-tuning, and give it some more attention before we release it. We hope this is useful for everyone to try out the Renoise tracking workflow without leaving your favorite DAW, or for Renoise users to bring your Renoise way of composing into other DAWs. This means that, without resorting to tricks like Rewire, the sample-mangling capabilities of Renoise will soon be available to any DAW, too. Redux has its own identity, and is more like Renoise's little brother. Redux is NOT intended to be Renoise as a plugin – we have ReWire for that – but it has been developed based on Renoises's new sampler and phrases to be an instrument.

Redux will be an instrument plugin (VST on Windows, OSX and Linux - Audio Unit on OSX - all in 32 and 64 bit flavors), which brings the sample-mangling and pattern hacking capabilities of Renoise to any DAW which is capable of hosting VST or AU plugins. "We've been working on more than just Renoise in the past months and are happy to announce (but not yet release) Redux. It's called Redux and here's a link to the thread on renoise forum not sure how it'll be as a midi sequencer for other objects though.

It will not be a full renoise plug in but a stripped down version focused on the sampler part of renoise so it'll have quite extensive audio manipulation abilities. Renoise is beta testing a sampler/tracker that will work as a VSTi :) That's true, a step midi sequencer directly implmented in AM would be great but I've read in other posts that it was not the primary goal of AM and that particular point won't be develop in the future. In my case, TouchOSC on android.Įxtra (maybe naive) question, is this possible to create new midi parameters controls into the non-AM Vst's? In Thesys, you have a large part of the midi parameters accessible and you can also use the native midi learn fonction of the soft to assign it to your external midi device. I've tried also Era2 of sonicbytes but strangely, in the parameter controls, none of the midi parameters were visible (anyone got this problem like me?). It's not dots in a board but vertical bars on a line. It's a good one but the interface is a bit too small for the diferent parameters in the grid. Now it's like a 100% fresh tool for me and it gives very special ideas, especially with all these crazy automations and metasurface.Ībout MIDI, I trigger a hardware Jomox bass synth (and also fab filter vst synth) from audiomulch, on PC, by using Sugarbytes Thesys as step midi sequencer. I remember I tried it ten years ago but I guess I needed to go through a lot of hardware synths (live) adventures before landing in the audiomulch world. I use audiomulch for only two months, I'm a novice but I really enjoy it.

PS Numerology 4 Pro beta came out yesterday ) painful to do sometimes but the results cna be pretty interesting. i think supporting the stream of OS X updates that apple throws at developers is taxing and slows development of new features and forces focus on compatibility and stupid changes they make.Īnyway, before i had any midi sequencers in mulch i used to just automate the hell out of things to get the changes i wanted. but the way it looks now it'll likely be a long time waiting for that feature. i think it'd be more stable than a 3rd party solution and easier to deal with multiples of it in a patch. i'd love a note out on the bass line contraption too. so, on KVR it shows up for dirt cheap now and then.īut yeah. ever since NI had that sale earlier this year and offered it for $100 or something.

there are some nice sequencers in it and some are not too hard to modify. Reaktor is really handy for a lot of things.
